About Me

I am a professional counsellor and registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy). I hold a Diploma of Higher Education in Humanistic Gestalt Counselling with distinction (Bucks New University).

I retired from Hampshire Police after nearly 3 decades in a variety of specialisms, including domestic violence, child protection, and the management of fellow police officers impacted by traumatic experiences. My ability not to shy away from another`s distress and despair led onto a natural path into counselling training.

I am committed to my own personal and professional development. As a member of the BACP, I abide by their Ethical Framework, which is available online at this link.

This means that my clients receive a professional and confidential service by a competent and qualified counsellor; it also means my practice is fully insured and entails me having regular supervision and engaging in my own personal therapy. This enables me to be fully present for you as we journey together.

I am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) and am GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) compliant. This means I protect your confidentiality and privacy.

I hold an Enhanced DBS certificate.

I attend professional conferences, workshops and have trained with the Pacific Gestalt Institute, California and am currently training at the Gestalt Center Wales, doing an Integrated Adult, Child and Young Person Post Graduate Diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapy. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am an individual member of the UK Association for Gestalt Practitioners and an individual member of the Hampshire Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (HACP).
